Hockey Jerseys

Among my collection of 25+ hockey jerseys are three 501st Legion-related jerseys. In one way or another, each was custom designed by me and turned into reality with the aid of some helpful hockey companies.

My hockey jerseys bear the number 43. This is in honor of my father, who passed away unexpectedly in 2003. His number was 43, considering considering that his birthdate was April 3, 1943 (4/3/43).

501st Legion

This is a two-of-a-kind jersey -- one for my wife and one for me. The design is based on the colors of Team Canada, prior to 2005 and the abomination known as the Nike Swift jerseys. The jersey came from a local sport shop that acquired the jerseys manufactured by AK.

The crest is a fully embroidered 11" patch of the Legion logo, hand-sewn onto the jersey. On the shoulders are 3" patches of the Imperial cog.

Midwest Garrison

The MWG jersey was part of a run open exclusively to members of Midwest Garrison. The jersey is that of the Philadelphia Flyers, manufactured by SP.

The crest is a fully embroidered 11" patch of the old Midwest Garrison logo, hand-sewn onto the jersey. The shoulders bear 3" patches of the Imperial cog as well. On the upper chest to the left is a Legion patch.

Michigan Squad

This is the jersey of Great Lakes Garrison, formerly the Michigan Squad, a subdivision of the Midwest Garrison. The jersey is based on the style of the University of Maine.

This jersey was custom built from the beginning. Rather than having the crest made into a patch to be hand-sewn onto the jerseys, the design was sent to the jersey maker who created the crest and applied it to the jersey. The shoulder patches are, however, hand-sewn. They are a 3.5" patch of the Imperial cog with "501st" in the middle.
